Project Description

These photographs can be downloaded by clicking on the link on the right-hand side of this page. You can set these images to be your desktop background (and/or Windows 8 Lock Screen):

  • Windows 7/8.1: Once downloaded to your local machine, you can right-click the file and choose “Set as Desktop Background”. Under Windows 8, you can set your Lock Screen image by moving your mouse to the right-hand corner desktop menu and choosing “Settings”. On the bottom of this menu you can choose “Change PC Settings”. There you will see the Lock Screen image, which you can change by pressing on the Browse button and choosing the downloaded image.
  • MAC OS X: From the desktop, choose Apple ⇒ System preferences. Click the Desktop & Screen Saver icon. You can then drag the downloaded image from Finder onto the Image Well.

All images are © Derek Molloy 2014-. They can be freely used for personal use, but any publicly accessible reproduction should not alter the image and should cite this website as the source of the image. The photographs were taken using a Canon EOS 6D with a 100mm f/2.8-32 macro lens and using a lens-mounted white LED light ring that I built myself! Many photos have a shallow depth of field — this really helps in allowing desktop icons to stand out.

Exploring BeagleBone

This is the companion site for the book “Exploring BeagleBone: Tools and Techniques for Building with Embedded Linux” by Derek Molloy. The site structures and contains all of the digital media that is described in the book. Each chapter in the book links to an individual web page, which can be accessed using the menu on the top right-hand side of this page when you close this menu. For details of the book itself, click here.
